Cactus Wheel Reception Friday night

Thanks all the folks who showed up. I appreciate all the support. Now its time to consolidate the images and move forward with ideas and things that worked and try to get a "Gallery" showing :) Don't get me wrong the Cactus Wheel was a great venue but it was the catalyst to get me on my new path.

December will be a slow month for getting in to the Studio but I do hope to get my ideas and a some more image done now that I have a clearer vision of what I should be doing. Funny how that happens when you hang all your recent pieces in one place and so get a better overview of what works and what does not.

Install done, all the woodcuts, digital prints, drawings and a few paintings are on display at the Cactus Wheel.

I have to say it feels different to have so much of my personnel work on display after so long doing art for commercial projects.

Tomorrow I install my work at the Cactus Wheel. The pieces will be up for the whole of December so if you cannot get to the reception on the 9th then be sure to stop by for lunch, dinner or drinks as you take a look at what I have been up too

Well its taken a while after stopping work on video games and traveling all over the country to finally get back to my roots. The barn is now a studio:

And I have started work on a new project. I have a show coming up on the 1st of Dec that will showcase the project. Its just a restaurant show but its the push I need to get things rolling.

I'll update the blog with times and location in the following weeks

New reference material

Been out of action as far as the blog is concerned. Been traveling for several months and undergoing some life changes. But have found and been directed at some great reference material and artists I never knew about. So I thought I'd share.

What a series of months. Bought a new house, renovated new house, new baby, moved house, quit job, wife started new business, refinished old house, started a new job etc etc...no time for art :(

did start a new project however with the wife, in an attempt to make more artistic/meaningful photos:

Forgot to mention I am trying to use only the iphone to take the picture, and edit within any apps. that way I can stay focused on the tonality, texture and composition and worry all the other things that go along with SLR. Maybe I'll start another project with the cannon, if I can ever get it back from the wife :)
