ZBrush and the Griffin

So doing my contract work and meeting some very unique artists has opened my eyes up to try digital stuff again. I'm all inspired to take my woodcuts, possible to 3D not sure if that means renders or even STl  3D printed versions of my characters. But for now here are a few images of how I am fairing in ZBrush as I translate the Griffin. I'm really only a few hours inlearning the software but its amazing to work with. Its like playing with clay :) takes me back to my college days

Pic of box frame

Here's the photo

Box Frame

Tried putting one of my prints on a floating mount in a box frame. Looks good but the idea was better than it turned out. Maybe need 2 clean edges instead of all 4 sides torn.

Will post a pick later

Great Visuals

Having come from the Video game industry I do try to keep my eye on whats going on visually. And I have to do a quick call out to the Art work being done on Guild wars 2. Here's a link to just one awesome wallpaper..http://www.guildwars2.com/global/includes/images/wallpapers/Charr_Select_1920x1200.jpg Daniel Dociu is the Art Director on this project and you'll find more amazing visuals by him on his web site - http://tinfoilgames.com/index.php

Cactus Wheel Reception Friday night

Thanks all the folks who showed up. I appreciate all the support. Now its time to consolidate the images and move forward with ideas and things that worked and try to get a "Gallery" showing :) Don't get me wrong the Cactus Wheel was a great venue but it was the catalyst to get me on my new path.

December will be a slow month for getting in to the Studio but I do hope to get my ideas and a some more image done now that I have a clearer vision of what I should be doing. Funny how that happens when you hang all your recent pieces in one place and so get a better overview of what works and what does not.

all up

Install done, all the woodcuts, digital prints, drawings and a few paintings are on display at the Cactus Wheel.

I have to say it feels different to have so much of my personnel work on display after so long doing art for commercial projects.

Not such a good photo but here's a peek. I'll be posting more images here and on the Peter Grundy Fine Arts facebook page :
